There’s a song that begins with the line, “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day” that keeps running through my head.
I don’t know about you but ever since I stopped dieting it’s like the world is conspiring in my favor. It seems like I’m far from alone in getting to this point of a very long and arduous restriction journey.
Hence, serious diet backlash appears to be popping up everywhere on social media.
Case in point: Last year I participated in a speaking summit organized by Stephanie Hutchenson. The title was Living La Vida Vegan. When I received a solicitation from her this year to be a part of her summit for a second time, I was like, “Whoa, my mind has really changed about using a plant based diet as a way of achieving the thin ideal. I’m thinking really differently now about body respect, body acceptance, the idea of telling other people what to eat and how to do food. I’ve grown to love my own body through partaking in things like sessions with a Boudoir Photographer to help me see it in a new light, and challenging myself to be more confident in situations like being on a beach or at a swimming pool. I see a lot of what’s going on in this arena as fostering disordered eating instead of the other way around. I doubt Stephanie is going to want me to be on her summit now!”
But I couldn’t have been more wrong.
It turns out that Stephanie has gone through quite the change since I spoke to her last year. And her conclusions are remarkably similar to my own.
So I joyfully invite you to participate in her summit this year. She’s renamed it “The Body Love Summit.”
I think you’ll be pretty surprised at what I have to say in my interview. I specifically asked Stephanie NOT to limit my interview for 30 minutes but simply to let our conversation to go on for as long as we needed to in order for me to speak my peace.
Here’s what Stephanie has to say about her summit this year:
If you are like most women, you have probably tried diet after diet.. after diet.
You gained the weight back…
You were miserable…
You feel like you just haven’t found one that ‘works for you’ yet…
And you are probably to the point of throwing your hands in the air and giving up on the whole diet thing completely.
Strict diets lead to relying solely on willpower.
Willpower wears off quickly, leading to a binge.
Which ultimately results in shame and guilt.
Then you find yourself emotionally eating because of the immense guilt you feel and for thinking you are a failure yet again. And the cycle continues…
You finally have the confidence and willpower to start another diet, only to find yourself back in the same position days or weeks later.
It is a completely backwards system!!!
It is not lack of willpower.
It is not that you are a failure at getting healthy.
There is nothing wrong with YOU!
There is everything wrong with the approach.
I’m on a major mission to change the way we see food, diets, and our bodies so that women like you can stop dieting and start living.
Food used to control my life – I was constantly thinking about food, strategically planning my next meal, and steering clear of all foods I labeled as ‘bad’ (AKA- never ever to be eaten..ever).
My food was never ‘healthy’ enough, my body was never ‘lean’ enough, and I was constantly defeated by the strict diet I put myself on.
Even when I was eating the cleanest, working out the most, and following my diet plan perfectly, I was not happy and still felt inadequate and miserable.
I’m sharing my story because it’s one that so many of us can relate to. And I’m is a on a mission to help you end your battle with food and finally feel confident in your own skin.
Because honestly, thin does not equal happy.
I’m is not as thin or lean as I used to be but I’m is finally feeling freedom from food and enjoying it again! THAT is happiness.
I’ve invited Wendy, along with top psychologists, coaches, best-selling authors, and more for the Body Love online interview series.
In this interview series, you are going to discover how to:
- Stop dieting all together and start trusting your own body to guide your food decisions. I’m talking about having the freedom to choose what you want to eat without fear that you will lose control!
- Form a healthy relationship with food and learn how to practice mindfulnessn order to listen to your body and what it needs instead of listening to what others say you should and shouldn’t eat.
- Liberate yourself from emotional eating and end your cycles of restriction and binging.
- Find balance and a healthy lifestyle without deprivation or strict diet plans.
- Eat intuitively and sensibly to fuel your body with optimal nutrition.
- Feel confident in your body and start loving yourself instead of constantly being at war with yourself and never feeling good enough.
Imagine if you owned who you are, felt undeniably beautiful in your own skin, and had the confidence to go out and take on the world.
Imagine spending less time obsessing over food- if it is healthy or unhealthy, if it is going to make you fat, how many calories you are consuming…
Life is so much more fun when we are LIVING instead of being worried about how we look, what our next meal will do to our figure, and hiding ourselves from the world because we think we aren’t good enough, pretty enough, or thin enough.
There is only one word to describe this feeling- FREEDOM!
The messages from the speakers in this interview series will liberate you from your diet mentality and reassure you that you do not have to work so hard and maintain so much willpower to achieve a blissful life where you actually love your body.
Stephanie’s hope for you when you join her is that you’ll look back on this as a pivotal moment in changing your health and your life.
All you need to do is click here and enter your information on the page to join us for the free series.
PS- It really is possible for you to live a life of confidence, enjoying food without guilt, and believing you are beautiful. You don’t need to live in an endless cycle of dieting, restriction, and misery. There is a better way, which you will uncover when you listen in to this event. Get ready for freedom!
That about sums up what my whole experience amounted to, so I’m personally pretty excited to hear what the other speakers in this summit have to say!
xoxo,
Wendy
