We have all the seen the latest hype over companies selling Syn free spice blends. Yes they are a great way to encourage you to try new meals, but they are a very expensive way to create a meal for all of the family. Creating your own spice blends can cost just a few pennies, they can be stored in small jars, labelled and even given away as gifts to fellow Slimming World buddies.

I especially love the convenience of having pre-mixed blends on hand. It saves a huge amount of time and hassle measuring out individual spices for each recipe. It also encourages creative ways for spicing up Syn Free foods like chicken, pasta or vegetables. Also many of the spice blends include similar ingredients meaning you are saving even more pennies! Do you need anything fancy to create your delicious spice blends?
I have two main pieces of in-expensive equipment for creating my spice blends.
Firstly I purchased myself a pack of 50 small airtight hinged lid containers. They are the perfect size for storing spice blends.
Secondly I have these amazing measuring spoons… get the measurement just right. Also anyone close to me knows I am obsessed with anything Rose Gold.
The spice blends are easy to make, simply measure them into your small airtight container, close the lid and shake. Don’t forget to label each pot if you intend to make them in batch for later.

SLIMMING WORLD FRIENDLY SPICE BLENDS
Cajun Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp Cumin
- 2 tbsp Coriander
- 2 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Dried Oregano
- 0.5 tsp Cayenne Pepper (For Mild.. Add 1 tsp for hot)
- 1.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 1.5 tsp Salt
Italian Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp Basil
- 2 tbsp Oregano
- 2 tbsp Thyme
- 1 tbsp Rosemary
- 1 tbsp Garlic Granules
Chili Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp Chilli Powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp Garlic Granules
- 1.5 tbsp Paprika
- 0.5 tbsp Oregano
- 0.5 tsp Coriander
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
Fajita Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp Chilli Powder
